It’s no mystery that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is rapidly transforming various industries, revolutionizing the way we work and interact with technology. In this blog, we’ll explore the fascinating ways in which Effectory harnesses AI and machine learning (ML) in its employee feedback technology. From improving process efficiency to empowering end-users, AI plays a crucial role in enhancing the overall experience for customers.

How AI is Revolutionizing Employee Feedback Technology: Insights from Effectory

The Power of AI in Employee Feedback Technology

  1. Automatic Language Translation: Effectory employs Azure Cognitive services to automatically translate answers to open-ended questions into different languages. This not only breaks language barriers but also saves time and cost associated with manual translation efforts. Additionally, the Translation Management System, Smartcat, assists translators by suggesting translations using AI, further enhancing the process efficiency and reducing expenses.
  1. Anonymization of Open-Ended Answers: With the help of OpenAI on Azure, Effectory is testing a system that anonymizes answers to open questions by detecting identifiable entities such as names and phone numbers. Once successful, this will unlock more in-depth analyses, including Natural Language Understanding and Sentiment Analysis, offering valuable insights to Effectory and end-users.
  1. Summarization Algorithm for Open-Ended Surveys: Effectory has developed an algorithm that summarizes survey answers to open questions, identifying and selecting the most representative groups of answers. This streamlines the process and enhances efficiency, even though it is currently available only in Dutch.
  1. AI for Developer Efficiency: Effectory plans to implement GitHub Copilot, an AI-powered tool that assists developers in writing code, tests, and comments. By leveraging AI, developers can become more productive and efficient in their tasks.
  1. Improving End-User Efficiency: In an experiment, Effectory developed a model to predict the data types uploaded in Employee Exchange. While the experiment was abandoned in favor of pattern recognition, it highlights the potential for AI to improve end-user efficiency. The company also plans to utilize AI-generated avatars and voice to create user support videos, further enhancing end-user support.

Effectory’s AI-Powered Hackathon

At Effectory, the team organized a stimulating hackathon focused on three main topics: generative AI, increased productivity, and virtual consultancy. One of the central themes was optimizing customer experience through AI-driven insights to drive employee engagement and retention.

During the event, the participants were upskilled by Ronald Scherpenisse, a Strategy Consultant in Technology and Business Strategy, and a presentation on algorithmic persuasion was given, shedding light on the ethical implications of AI applications. Our main takeaway to summarize AI in an easy to remember framework: AI is here to AUGMENT or AUTOMATE.

An Exciting Outcome: Empowering “Effective Talks” Webinar with AI

As part of the hackathon, a little group created an entire webinar for Effectory’s “Effective Talks” series using AI. In just 45 minutes, they generated:

  • a script (ChatGTP),
  • a registration page (Tome),
  • a slidedeck (Tome),
  • visuals and images (Tome),
  • and a webinar with a lifelike speaker (Synthesia).

The topic, “Traditional HR is dead: Effectory is here to revolutionize,” showcased the potential of AI to streamline content creation and deliver compelling experiences to customers. Click the links to see for yourself!

Other groups proposed new business applications, a system to sort all internal information and documentation, new product features and other exciting stuff that might become our product’s future!

Data Security and Privacy Concerns

At the end of the hackathon, Effectory’s Security and Privacy officer emphasized the importance of safeguarding customer and prospect data when using AI. This served as a valuable reminder to strike a balance between AI’s capabilities and data privacy, ensuring responsible and ethical use of AI technologies. As a follow-up, the InfoSecurity and Legal teams will work together to define guidelines moving forward.

Conclusion

AI is undeniably transforming the way we operate, and Effectory’s innovative use of AI and ML in employee feedback technology is a testament to its potential. From enhancing process efficiency to empowering end-users, AI offers countless benefits that drive success and foster a positive impact on businesses and their customers. As AI continues to evolve, it is crucial to remain mindful of data privacy and ethical considerations, ensuring a responsible and promising future for AI-driven technologies.
